You’ll start in Kandy, the cultural capital nestled in the hills, where the air smells of incense, temple bells echo through misty mornings, and centuries of Buddhist devotion still pulse through the Temple of the Tooth Relic. It’s calm, grounding, and cinematic in the way only old kingdoms can be. Then it’s off to Bentota, where golden beaches stretch endlessly, palm trees sway to ocean winds, and time slows down to the rhythm of the tides. Here, you’ll drift down the serene Maadu River, cradle baby turtles at Kosgoda Hatchery, and let the sun and salt reset your senses.
Welcome to the island that has it all
Arrive at Colombo International Airport, meet your friendly guide, and start your scenic drive to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural heart. En route, stop at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, a wholesome pit stop where rescued elephants are fed, bathed, and loved. You’ll also visit a Spice Garden, learning how cinnamon and cardamom go from tree bark to your teacup.
An evening with history and rhythm
Once in Kandy, check into your hotel and freshen up. Later, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most revered Buddhist sites in the world. Before the day ends, enjoy a traditional Kandy Cultural Show with fire dancers, drums, and moves that’ll leave you wide-eyed.

After breakfast, stroll through the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, home to 4,000+ plant species, exotic orchids, and trees older than your playlists. It’s peaceful, green, and smells like earth after rain.

Then, drive to Bentota, the tropical beach town where relaxation comes naturally. Check in to your resort and spend the evening at leisure, maybe watch the sunset dip into the Indian Ocean or enjoy a quiet dinner by the waves.

Adventures with a splash of calm
Post breakfast, set off for the Maadu River Boat Ride, drifting past mangroves, tiny islands, and maybe even a lazy monitor lizard or two. Next, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where baby turtles are nurtured before being released into the sea, an experience that’ll make you smile like a proud parent.
The Bentota way of life
If you’re up for it, go all in with water sports, Jet Ski, banana rides, or parasailing, because who said calm can’t come with a side of adrenaline? Spend the evening relaxing by the beach, soaking in those tropical vibes.
