Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kochi and Drive to Munnar

Touch down at Kochi International Airport, where your driver will be waiting to whisk you away on a scenic drive to Munnar, the crown jewel of Kerala’s hill stations. As you leave behind the city bustle, the landscape slowly shifts, coconut trees give way to misty mountains, spice gardens, and waterfalls tumbling down lush green slopes.

En route, stop for quick photo ops at local spice plantations or cascading waterfalls (trust us, you’ll want your camera handy). By afternoon, arrive in Munnar and check into your cozy hill-view hotel. Spend your evening soaking in the mountain breeze with a cup of freshly brewed tea straight from the nearby estates.

Overnight Stay in Munnar.

Day 2: Exploring Munnar and Tea Gardens

Munnar Tea Gardens

Wake up to mist drifting across rolling tea gardens. Munnar mornings hit different. After breakfast, head out for a full-day sightseeing trip through the most scenic corners of the town.

Visit the serene Mattupetty Dam

This place is surrounded by green hills, then continue to Kundala Lake for a peaceful boat ride. Shout your name into the valleys at Echo Point (because why not?) and then make your way to Rajamalai (Eravikulam National Park) to try spotting the rare Nilgiri Tahr, Kerala’s very own mountain goat.

Visit a local tea museum

By late afternoon, visit a local tea museum or plantation if time permits, watching how your morning brew is made is oddly satisfying. Return to your hotel and spend the evening relaxing or wandering through Munnar’s local markets for tea, chocolates, and souvenirs.

Overnight Stay in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady

Head to Thekkady

After breakfast, check out and gear up for a drive that takes you from misty tea slopes to dense jungle vibes. The road to Thekkady winds through spice-scented valleys, tiny villages, and endless greenery. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and get ready for a wild day ahead. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary

Head out to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of India’s most iconic reserves. Spread across 777 sq km, it’s home to elephants, deer, and if you’re really lucky, a tiger or two. Enjoy an optional boating experience on Periyar Lake, where you can spot wildlife right from your seat. You can also explore nearby spice plantations to learn how Kerala’s world-famous spices come to life or opt for a short elephant ride. As the evening cools, treat yourself to a traditional Kerala dinner or a cup of spiced chai before calling it a night.

Overnight Stay in Thekkady.

Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey

Journey to Alleppey

Wake up to the sounds of nature and hit the road after breakfast. Today’s journey takes you to Alleppey (Alappuzha), the heart of Kerala’s legendary backwaters. The drive unfolds like a postcard, paddy fields, fishing villages, and canals shimmering in the sun. Experience backwater canals

On arrival, check into your hotel (or houseboat if you upgrade!) and get ready for pure slow-life bliss. Spend your day gliding through narrow backwater canals lined with swaying coconut trees and quaint homes. Watch fishermen cast their nets and villagers go about their day, it’s a slice of simple, beautiful life.

As the sun sets, hop on an evening boat ride arranged by the hotel. Cruise past Chinese fishing nets and temple reflections as the sky turns pink and gold.

Overnight Stay in Alleppey.

Day 5: Alleppey to Kochi

Morning Breakfast and Shopping

Have breakfast at your hotel and take one last stroll by the calm waters. Depending on your flight timing, you can do a quick stop for some local shopping, coir handicrafts and Kerala spices make great souvenirs. Onward Journey

Later, your driver will transfer you to Kochi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. You’ll leave with your camera full, heart full, and probably a new definition of peace.
