Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive at Paro → Drive to Thimphu

A flight so pretty you’ll forget turbulence exists
Your trip starts with one of the world’s most scenic flights. As you descend into Paro, snow-capped peaks brush past your window, Everest, Kanchenjunga, and more. Below, you’ll spot tiny temples, rice terraces, and rivers twisting like silver ribbons.

Welcome to Bhutan’s calm chaos
Meet your local guide at Paro Airport and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s quirky capital. No traffic lights here, just a policeman gracefully waving cars through like a human metronome. Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Maybe step out for a quiet evening stroll and a plate of Ema Datshi (Bhutan’s famous chili cheese curry). Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2 – Explore Thimphu: Culture & Calm

Meet the monk city with no stoplights
After breakfast, begin exploring Bhutan’s capital, a blend of monastic rhythm and modern café culture. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a peaceful stupa dedicated to the third king. Continue to Buddha Dordenma, an enormous golden statue that watches over the valley like a chill guardian.

The Takin Zoo
Meet the takin, Bhutan’s national animal, a mythical mash-up of a goat and cow that somehow exists. Then, stop by the Trashichho Dzong and admire its architecture before heading to the National Library and Folk Heritage Museum.

Evening market & clock tower strolls
Wrap up with a walk through Centenary Park and Handicraft Bazaar, perfect for prayer flags, local crafts, and a last coffee near the Clock Tower Square. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3 – Thimphu → Punakha via Dochula Pass

Road to serenity (and selfies)
After breakfast, buckle up for the drive to Punakha Valley through the Dochula Pass (10,000 ft). The pass greets you with colorful prayer flags and 108 white chortens shimmering against the clouds. On a clear day, you’ll catch views of Bhutan’s highest peaks, pure wallpaper material.

The Divine Madman’s village tales
Stop by Chimmi Lhakhang, the temple of Drukpa Kunley, the “Divine Madman.” It’s said couples blessed here often return home with baby news. The artwork? Bold. The energy? Chaotic good.

The mighty Punakha Dzong
Later, visit the Punakha Dzong, built at the confluence of two rivers, Pho Chu and Mo Chu. With its golden spires, lilac jacarandas, and old-world charm, this fortress is Bhutan’s pride and your next Instagram cover. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 4 – Punakha → Paro

From valleys to vibes
Drive back toward Paro via Lamperi. En route, stop at the Royal Botanical Park, home to serene lakes, wildflowers, and maybe even a glimpse of a red panda if you’re lucky.

Scenic drive & slow evening
Continue toward Paro via Semtokha, soaking in those rolling landscapes. Once in Paro, check in and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Stroll through the market or sip butter tea in a cozy café. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 5 – Explore Paro- Museums, Monasteries & Magic

Culture hour- museums and monasteries
Start with Paro Dzong, then visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong), a fortress-turned-gallery with ancient relics and natural history displays. Next, head to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most sacred monasteries, dating back to the 7th century.

Ruins & the iconic Tiger’s Nest base
In the afternoon, explore the Drukgyel Dzong ruins, and wrap up your sightseeing at the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched impossibly on a cliff. Even if you don’t hike up, the view from below is straight out of a movie. Evening free for shopping or café hopping. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6 – Departure

A goodbye wrapped in clouds
After breakfast, drive to Paro Airport for your onward journey. Bhutan bids you farewell with the same calm it greeted you with, leaving you lighter, quieter, and maybe just a little more in love with the world.
